AI chat assistant

Cross-examine your money like a witness on the stand.

A relative said that about me once, and not entirely as a compliment. Guilty. The assistant is that cross-examination on demand: ask your ledger a question in plain English and the answer comes from your own transactions, receipts and accounts, with the evidence under it.

It can read your money. It cannot touch it.

My dashboard with the assistant open, at the end of an answer about my cash outlook: the figures it used in bold, why the forecast looks stressed, a bottom line in three points, and three ways it offers to dig further. It called the result an estimate, not a guarantee, without being asked.Names, institutions, currencies and balances shown are illustrative.

Answers with the evidence under them.

A number without its evidence is an opinion. When the assistant gives you a total it shows how many rows went into it, the dates it used, the merchants that drove it, and anything it is unsure about. It is built to say so when the ledger cannot support an answer, and because it is AI it can still get something wrong, which is exactly why the evidence sits under every number: check the rows, not the prose. It reads across 66 accounts in four currencies and answers in the one you think in.

  • “What did I really spend on restaurants last quarter, transfers excluded?” gets a total and the rows behind it.
  • Counts, date ranges, top merchants and caveats come with every number, so you can audit it.
  • Mixed currencies stay labelled. Where the data has a gap it is built to say so, and the rows let you check.

Read-only means read-only.

That is not a limitation I apologise for. It is the design. Any app that can move your money has authority; the assistant has none. It answers for the numbers and leaves your ledger exactly as it found it.

  • It can look up, total, compare and explain. It cannot create, edit, delete, or move a cent.
  • Each conversation is scoped to your own account by a signed token. There is no path to anyone else’s ledger.
  • Ledger, receipt and OCR text are treated as data, never as instructions, so nothing printed on a receipt can steer it.

What it can reach, read-only

  • Transactions: search them, total them by category, merchant, tag or account, find duplicates and recurring charges.
  • Receipts and their line items, matched to the charge or waiting to be.
  • Accounts and balances, loan detail included, in their own currencies and in yours.
  • Your Cash Outlook and any archived weekly briefing, as frozen.
  • Your 60-day money flow, transfers and loan payments in their own lanes.

What I actually ask it

  • “What did I really spend on restaurants last quarter, transfers excluded?”
  • “Which charges look duplicated in the last sixty days?”
  • “What is recurring, and what does it add up to a month?”
  • “Which balances look out of date?”
  • “What was on my last hardware-store receipt, and did the total match the charge?”
  • “Explain my latest cash outlook, its assumptions and its biggest drivers.”

Every one of those used to be a spreadsheet I built at eleven at night from an export. Now it is a sentence, and the answer shows its rows.

Your bank statements are not a study guide.

We do not train AI on your financial data. Ever. The AI services behind the assistant are configured to restrict training use of customer content where that option exists. Retention varies by service and configuration, so I will not call it zero-retention; the Privacy Policy says exactly what is kept and for how long, and the Security page has the short version.

Frequently asked questions

Can it move my money or change my data?
No. The assistant is read-only. It can look up, total, compare and explain your transactions, receipts, accounts and outlook, and it cannot create, edit or delete a row, move money, or start a payment. Any app that can move your money has authority. This one has none, on purpose.
Will it make numbers up?
It is built not to. It answers from your ledger and shows the evidence: how many rows went into a total, the dates it used, the merchants that drove it, and any caveats such as mixed currencies or an unmatched receipt, and it calls the cash outlook an estimate, because it is. It is still AI, and AI can misread a question or a result, so treat an answer as a starting point and check the rows; they are there for exactly that. The Terms say the same with fewer jokes.
Can it see anyone else’s data?
No. Every conversation is scoped to your own account by a signed session token, and the assistant reaches your data only through read-only paths tied to that session. There is no path from a chat to another customer’s ledger, and no path from a chat to changing yours.
Is my chat used to train AI?
No. We do not use your financial data or your questions to train AI or intelligence systems, and the AI services behind the assistant are configured to restrict training use of customer content where that option exists. Retention varies by service and configuration, so we do not call it zero-retention; the Privacy Policy says exactly what is kept and for how long.
